Fire Returns (new & amended)

Since the 2018 fire, John (and Bill) have worked with the late Congressman LaMalfa's office to ensure the best outcome for Campfire survivors.

Once the legislation was passed our staff prepared thousands of Amended returns for processing allowing our clients, near and far, to recover over 23 million tax dollars paid to the IRS.

Our methods have been proven to be accurate in multiple audits and stood up with time.

John continues to work with people online and in-person to help Campfire victims receive accurate payouts and minimize their tax burden.

We will continue to fight for the survivors of the Campfire whilst helping rebuild the ridge.

The Office in Paradise, CA

After buying a home in Bangor, CA in 2018, John and Cina Knecht decided to expand their practice to the area and purchased Sharret Bookkeeping. John is a Bay Area native and excited to be back in California!

When you come into the office, you’ll first meet Kim our office manager – who helps keeps the ship running smoothly! She’ll introduce you to Rose and Taylor in-person and Kara (who us supports remotely from our Orem, UT office). All of them have worked tirelessly to streamline our services to make it easy for you to do all things financial.

We’ve taken things online to allow for payroll clients to offer direct deposit and secure remote uploading for tax planning and preparation making it so you don’t have to leave your house! But you’re always welcome to come in if you’d like!
